Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year at Oak Park Freshman Institute. It is my pleasure to have your child as a student. As we work together (Parent-Student-Teacher), your child will not only be prepared academically, but also for life. There is much work to be done this year. Parent, teacher, and student communication is the best way to ensure your child’s success. The purpose of this syllabus is to show you exactly what is expected of each student in my class.

A wide variety of authors will be explored in a plethora of genres, including short story, fiction, non-fiction, essay and poetry.
